Monday’s Anzac assembly was a special occasion for all at Mortlake College. Our school captains, Erin McGuigan and Sasha Frith welcomed members of the Mortlake RSL branch and President, Merv Hampson spoke about the importance of Anzac Day and, in particular, the courage and bravery shown by young members of the armed services during war. It is always a privilege for our school community to have the RSL members lead a special assembly for both Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
Special thanks to President, Merv Hampson and Vice President, Steve Hubbard, Secretary Bill Vale, and also members Errol Harris and John McGuigan for giving up their time to attend our special assembly and address students and staff.
On Anzac Day it was wonderful to see so many Mortlake College students proudly representing their school in the Mortlake march and paying their respects to our servicemen and women. Our school captains, Erin and Sasha laid a wreath on behalf of the school community.
Thank you to all the students who attended and also the parents who ensured that their children were able to participate in such an important occasion.
