2013 saw the Year 3/4 students descend to Princetown to enjoy the beach setting of Camp Kangaroobie. The students had a truly international experience this year as we were surrounded by helpers and campers from Iceland, Ireland, America and Singapore. On the journey there we stopped in at Port Campbell Information Centre to learn about some of the local shipwrecks and then stopped off at the site of the famous Loch Ard shipwreck.
The camp had much to offer starting with a 45 minute hike to the beach where we enjoyed building sandcastles, playing cricket and keep things off, attacking the sand dunes, paddling in the cool water and some even got in a spot of fishing.
Other activities included the Ropes Course, the muddy and exciting Commando Course, Canoeing on the Jellibrand River, camp concert, and the totally awesome Bush Game!
We were surrounded by great home cooking - nobody went hungry - tasty snacks and loads of fresh fruit. A big thanks to the parent helpers Greg Howat, Charlotte Gubbins and Tony woods. Everyone agrees that Camp Kangaroobie is an awesome place to get to know each other and just have heaps of fun!
